The Break is an invite-only event series and network run by Unafraid of Heights B.V., Tolsteegsingel 3, 3582 AC Utrecht, The Netherlands, KvK 91507715, VAT NL865675788B01. Contact: victor@unafraid-heights.com.

These terms apply to this website and to all events, memberships and other services we offer under The Break. A separate written agreement (for example for sponsorship) goes before these terms where it differs. The Break is for business professionals. By registering you confirm that you act for a company or business.

Events are by invitation. We review every request and can decline or withdraw an invitation. Programme, speakers, venues and dates can change. You register through Luma. A place is personal and cannot be passed on, except for members who name a colleague as replacement. If we cancel an event, we refund what you paid for that event or offer a new date. We do not pay for travel, hotel or other costs you made. Behave professionally. What is said at our events stays among the participants: do not share names or content outside the event without the speaker's consent.

Photos and video: we take photos and video at events and may use them on our website, social media and newsletters. If you do not want to appear, tell us at the event or by email and we will leave you out or remove you where reasonably possible.

Membership belongs to the company named at registration, not to the person. If you change company, you reapply for the new company. Tiers and prices are shown on the website: Associate (free, on approval), Founding Member, Launch Member and Regular Member. Prices are per year in euros, excluding VAT. VAT is added where it applies. For paid tiers the price you join at is locked for 2 years. Payment goes through Luma and Stripe. Benefits, such as guaranteed seats and priority, are those described on the website when you join. [Renewal: your membership renews each year unless you cancel before the renewal date. Confirm.] We can end a membership if someone seriously breaks these terms.

Sponsorship is agreed in writing, case by case. Information on this website is not an offer.

The text, logos, photos and design on this website belong to Unafraid of Heights B.V. or its licensors. Do not copy or reuse them without our written permission. Company names and logos of others belong to them. We try to keep the website accurate and up to date but give no guarantee. We link to third parties such as Luma and LinkedIn and are not responsible for their content or terms.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, such as lost profit or lost business. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant event or membership in the 12 months before the claim. This does not apply to intent or gross negligence, or where the law does not allow a limit. You are responsible for your own travel, health and insurance. Venue rules apply at events.

We are not in breach if we cannot meet our obligations because of events outside our control, such as illness, venue closure, strikes, extreme weather or government measures.

We can change these terms. The version in force when you register or join applies to you.

Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the competent court in the Midden-Nederland district (Utrecht), unless mandatory law says otherwise.
